• Introducing the Rukha Writing Lab
This fall the Academy is excited to include the addition of a writing lab.
The purpose of the lab is to assist students in their development as writers through on-campus consultations. The lab will help all students on all skill levels not only with class assignments but also with personal projects like resumes and business letters. The lab was created to help students 1. To write concisely and with improved clarity 2. To provide a solid foundation of data bases and search engines for scholarly research 3. To create a scholarly framework for the written word that is universally accepted in institutions of higher learning, professional journals, and the mass media.
The lab is the brain-child of Jim Seemann, PhD. Jim is a current faculty member at Concordia College in St. Paul, MN. Here Jim offers his talents as a youth minister at the college and teaches in the theater department.
Rukha is blessed to receive Jim’s gracious gift in the creation of the writing lab. Jim will also provide free consultations to the students as well as serving as a project advisor in the Mastery Studies program.
• Mastery Studies cohort one begins Friday, September 7, 2012.
Fair winds and rich blessings to the MS student body.
• Standard Studies cohort two launched their Rukha education with their first live webinar on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. The webinar introduced the students to the Traditional Anatomy and Physiology for healers course.

Healing, Death and Dying-Rukha® Academy workbook overview
By Shelli Stanger Nelson, Founder and President
We thought we would give you a glimpse into the Academy workbook. Here is the course overview for Healing, Death and Dying. This course is a part of the curriculum offered in the Mastery Studies (MS) program.
The course is taught by Rev. Mary Brown, M. Div.
Healing occurs on many levels. In some cases, healing is the resolution or “cure” of an ailment. Yet in many other situations healing is the ability to integrate a painful and unwanted occurrence smoothly into the fabric of one’s life experience. The word “heal” is derived from the Anglo-Saxon word, “haelen”, which means whole. When we divide ourselves and the events in our lives into categories of “good” and “bad”, or if we deny and continuously do battle with events that go against our personal will, we remain separate and un-unified. The truest and most meaningful healing is brought to fruition when we can assimilate and unify life’s events and thus, be made whole.
Individuals generally seek out a professional bio-energy practitioner in hopes of changing negative life experiences into an outcome that aligns with the individual's human ego-driven demands. “This is what I don’t like or I don’t want in my life” is generally how the first session begins. From this starting point, a journey begins. Often times, in the client’s mind, the journey hopefully leads to eradication of the problem. In many situations, negative life experiences are, indeed, transformed, turned around, and the client receives resolution of an illness, injury or state of disharmony. Yet in many instances this is not the case. The professional practitioner’s task then becomes one of supporting the client toward integration and acceptance of the unfolding Divine template.
Providing a supportive space whereby individuals can come to work through their pain, struggle and other emotions related to not getting what they want is of exceptional value. This includes not only providing a healing presence in the face of death, but in all losses. In this course we focus on the elements that are useful in creating the sacred space needed to process difficult losses in order that ultimate healing, or wholeness, might blossom.
Professional practitioner’s need to be able to meet the client where they are in their healing and grieving process and yet, find a way to gently open the individual toward realizing that, as human beings, we don’t always get what we desire. Often times it’s the practitioner’s role to dispel myths that are so often cultivated in the spiritual and mystic realms. It is the desire of the child-ego to believe that we can create whatever outcomes we desire in life. That we are all-powerful and can steer the universe and Divine template in whatever direction we so choose. There is a prevalent distorted image in the new-age realm that believes if we cannot self-determine destiny, that we are then nothing more than pawns in an experimental spiritual game. Coping with terminal illness, death and major loss tends to be one of the key contributors to this misguided notion. Respecting the individual’s grieving process and beliefs is necessary. Yet equally critical is the ability to assist in recognizing the reality of human limitation. In all things there is a season. There is a time to hope and strive for the fulfillment of our wishes and desires. And there is a time to surrender to the Divine template of the unfolding universe, which is perfect in it’s imperfections.
Finding blessing and opportunity within the pain of loss is a true healing experience. As we sit in an open heart with another, providing support in experiencing the variable emotions linked to grief and loss, we often can provide a space wherein the mourner can find higher truths and meanings. In this state, the individual becomes united with the fifth, sixth and seventh levels of their HBF. One can find purpose in all events in the sacred, spiritual, human experience. One feels their true participation in the evolution of the universe and can feel a sense of strength, safety and belonging to the plan rather than feeling as an isolated outsider, where blessings belong to others and glory and goodness are withheld.
