From time-to-time we will be posting some personal reflections from our graduates in order that you might get a feeling for who enrolls at the Academy and how they are using their Rukha experience and education in their lives.
This first interview comes from Cohort one graduate, Jennifer Kirk Holle. Jennifer operates a private bio-energy therapy practice in Minneapolis, Holle Health Center.

Q:before enrolling at Rukha Academy, what sort of personal transformation work and/or education in energy medicine did you have?
A: Back in the early 1990’s I was in a car accident. Unable to heal my body through western medicine, I turned to alternative healers. Through their work my body started to heal. During my sessions I could feel everything that was happening in my body. I became fascinated by the work and began to ask questions about what I was feeling. My
practitioner’s encouraged me to start a practice, and to look at my life and see where I was not feeling fulfilled. They also encouraged me to take energy medicine classes.
My exploration began by taking weekend workshops. I completed levels 1-4 Spring Forest Qi-gong and began working with a teacher one-on-one who did energy healing and practiced shamanism. I studied with a Tibetan monk, learning about Buddhism and meditation. I traveled to Chiang Mia where I studied ancient smoke healings which had been handed down through generations. I have a strong interest in and have begun classes in cranial sacral work. The last five years I have been taking classes and doing personal work with Rukha® Academy President, Shelli Stanger Nelson. I have completed her level 1-4 introductory classes; Living with Consciousness™. It was her work that lead me to the Academy.
Q: When you initially applied to attend the Academy, what were your reasons for enrolling?
A: I enrolled in the Academy to continue my transformation into a healing practitioner. For the last five years I had taken classes from and done personal, private work with Shelli Stanger Nelson. The work we had done was life changing for me and I knew this was the path for me in becoming a healer; I knew this would create change in people’s lives, just as it had in mine. It was important to me that the instruction I would receive at Rukha® Academy was certified with a reputation for higher standards of education and allow me to continue deepening my personal healing.
Q: How have you been using the education acquired through the Standard Studies program since you graduated?
A: After graduation I implemented my business plan that I created in Rukha. This has helped me make sound business decisions, set goals and promote my practice. My ethics class enabled me to create my personal and professional ethics, and to understand the laws/guidelines I must work within as an alternative healer. My ethic’s class has been
invaluable to my practice in relation to my boundaries, relationships and staying within my scope of practice.
I graduated two months ago in May of 2012. My practice is growing and I am earning an income through my Rukha education. The healing skills that I was taught in school have been creating change physically and emotionally for my clients. I have found that my best advertising has been my clients. They have referred several people to me.
Personally, my education has helped me learn who I am. In The Living with Consciousness™ course, I have become more conscious of my woundings, images and beliefs that directly influenced my emotions and physical body. I began to see the masks I put on when I am afraid to be my authentic self and the defenses I put up when triggered by others. Through this work I have learned to go inward and become aware of the root cause of my wounds, which allows me to recognize my distortions and limiting beliefs. I now can make a choice to react or just to be present to the trigger and let it move through me. My relationships have become much healthier and I have been able to move more into my authentic self.
Q: Tell us your future goals and aspirations and how your education with the Academy might have helped shape those decisions.
A: The Academy taught me that continued education and the advancement of my skills as a practitioner is one of the important aspects for growth as a practitioner. As my education continues I find myself becoming more and more excited about my ability to help my clients. In continuance with this, I will be attending the Academy’s Mastery Studies program in the fall.My goals and aspirations revolve around having a private practice which collaborates in working with surgical patients. I see my work helping patients prepare for surgery, being present during surgery, and assisting them with their healing process post surgery. I also envision myself working to help create a clinic specifically designed in bridging western and alternative healing.
