Jean Chagnon, PhD - Ethics instructor
Jean Chagnon, PhD, is a licensed psychologist in Minnesota. She is currently the co-owner and President of Counseling Psychologists of Woodbury, P.A. (CPW) where she maintains a private practice. Jean came to CPW with 16 years of experience in higher education as a faculty member, associate dean, director, and staff psychologist. She holds a BS in Engineering, an MA in Education, and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology. She also has graduate academic training in Theology. Jean has broadened her professional work with further training in Reiki Energy Healing, Rosen Method Bodywork, and Shamanism. She has worked as an activist in the GLBT community and the effort to end violence against women.
Mary Anna Palmer LICSW, LMFT, C.P. - Psychodrama Instructor
Mary Anna received her Masters of Social Work in 1978 with special emphasis in families and treatment. Her post graduate training includesFamily Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Clinical Hypnosis,Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), MN Couple Communication, Experiential Group Therapy methods including Psychodrama, Sociodrama, and Sociometry.
Mary Anna Provides psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. She has studied Psychodrama and group psychotherapy since 1982. In 2003, Mary Anna became a Board Certified Practitioner (C.P.) of Psychodrama, Sociometry, and Group Psychotherapy. Currently she offers personal growth groups and training to professionals in Psychodramatic methods. She has been a Social Worker/Family Therapist for 42 years and is the founder of the Psychodrama & Psychotherapy Center in Eagan, MN.
Sarah Miracle, BS - Traditional Anatomy and Physiology for Healers Instructor
Sarah earned a Bachelor of Science degree in family social science/public health from the University of Minnesota in 1983. She worked as a Dental Hygienist for 34 years before retiring to pursue her healing practice. She is a graduate of the Standard Studies and Mastery Studies programs at Rukha Academy. Before accepting her position as faculty, Sarah tutored Rukha students in Traditional Anatomy and Physiology for two years.
Sarah is married and has a grown son, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her pastimes include gardening, creating stained glass, making fused glass jewelry and assisting with cooking classes at The Wedge Co-Op in Minneapolis.
Sarah’s volunteer time includes donating her skill as a professional bio-energy practitioner at Pathways, an organization located in south Minneapolis that provides free integrative healing modalities for people with life threatening illnesses.
Scott Taylor, EdD - Going into Business Instructor
Dr. Scott Taylor is currently professor of Small Business Management at South Central College. This program brings the benefits of business management education directly to business owners and managers.
Taylor earned a business administration degree from Coe College and an MBA in marketing and strategic planning from Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He holds a counseling degree from the New Seminary in New York and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.
Scott started his business career with Dayton-Hudson Corporation (now Macy's.) He then joined his family's firm that operated 17 Brett's Department Stores and Ehlers specialty stores, serving as President for five years.
Dr. Taylor has also served as VP of marketing and sales for a startup biotech company, Phenix Biocomposites. He also owns his own consulting and training company, the Expanded Awareness Institute.
Claudine Arndt, BA - Integrative Nutrition
Claudine graduated from the Professional Training Program and Advanced Immersion Program in Holistic Health Coaching at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition, New York City, in 2006. She also holds a BA in English Literature and Composition from the University of Wisconsin - LaCrosse.
Through her private practice, Wellness with Claudine, LLC, Claudine has helped hundreds of individuals reduce symptoms of ill health and/or resolve health concerns through whole foods nutrition and sound lifestyle choices. She specializes in helping individuals resolve digestive concerns such as IBS and colitis; she also works extensively with individuals recovering from cancer who are interested in using food as medicine.
In her free time, Claudine enjoys working in her garden of native plants, browsing local farmers' markets, advocating for sustainably grown, local foods, or buried in a really good book. She lives in Savage with her husband, Mike, who has been known to eat a healthier diet than she does.
Rev. Mary M. Brown, MDiv - Healing, Death & Dying
A Lutheran pastor with twenty years of ministry experience, the Reverend Mary Brown has served in two large congregations in Minneapolis, MN, Mount Olivet Lutheran Church and Calvary Lutheran Church of Golden Valley. Brown helped to develop the Center for Biblical Preaching at Luther Seminary and most recently has served at Odyssey Networks, a multifaith multimedia organization in Manhattan, NY. Pastoral care and counseling have been an important part of her work, with special focus on ministering during the process of death and dying.
Pastor Brown earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, and a master of divinity from Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota. Pastor Brown is married to Luther Johnson. Together they have one daughter, Hope, who is currently a senior at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. Mary enjoys spending time with her family and friends, blogging for The Huffington Post and other religious publications, and volunteering in her community.
Jennifer Kirk-Holle - Co-Teacher - Mastery program
Jennifer is a graduate of the Standard Studies, Mastery Studies and Apprentice Program at Rukha Academy. Over the years she has studied at the Fulfillment Foundation in Chang-Mia, meditation with Geshe Tubtin, Crainiosacral therapy work with Wes Vaught, Levels 1-4 Spring Forest QiGong with Master Chunyi Lin and Energy Medicine with Ann Westfall.
Jennifer’s work has allowed her to travel to many parts of the world over the past 30 years. She is married and has a grown son. Jennifer has a private practice in Edina, Minnesota working as a Rukha Method Science Energy Practitioner. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge with students and to grow personally and professionally at Rukha Academy.
Jennifer enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, kayaking and spending time with family and friends. She has been a volunteer in the Allina hospice program as an energy healing practitioner.
Brent Nelson - CFO and Director of IT
Brent Nelson comes to Rukha® with 20 years of experience in finance and IT services. He received his degree in electronics and technology in 1995. Brent has held several positions of leadership within the IT department of Fairview Health Services including Lead Technical Analyst for the corporate offices and the central business office for this multi-billion dollar organization. He has held leadership roles throughout his career with Fairview.
Brent's interests include mountain skiing, carpentry and furniture construction, home improvements, landscaping, gardening, and outdoor cooking.
He has been involved with the charity Loaves and Fishes, a food program for disadvantaged families in Minneapolis.
